The artefacts

Objects displayed on the official website of the Banished from Warsaw 1944 - the Plight of Children project belonged to the citizens of Warsaw - authors of the accounts. Some of objects accompanied them throughout their ordeal, some were found in the ruins of the houses, when their owners came back from camps, forced labor or exile in the General Government. Often these wete the only items that survived the Warsaw Uprising and the exodus of the civilians.
